WEEK 5: Getting to Know Your International Contacts—Part 2

Week 5: 6162

The website provides information about a child’s development, mental health leadership and what a child may have to deal with ad how well they were able to cope in certain situations. For the global child development, Harvard has studied in order to understand where the child’s roots in learning begin, as well as, the quality of their programs. Second aspect, mental health, uses a scientific approach to keep children from breaking down because of diseases they have to deal with at such young ages. Global diseases seem so frequent in children, due to the care they receive or should I say lack of, which is so sad. Last aspect, exploration of how children function during and after crises that have or may occur in their area. Globally, children do not have clean water or enough food. Seeing how a child deals with any type of crisis causes many issues internally with a child, which eventually protrudes out externally.

Just to mention something about Save the Children website:

Since Father’s Day is quickly approaching, they have where people can donate in honor of a dad over in another country. It allows you to send a hundred dollars to provide a bike for health officials, so they can get back and forth faster than if they had to walk to take care of a child. They have other things that you can donate money, as well.

  1. Nakita,
Save the Children initiates so many wonderful projects for children around the world. I can see how something as simple as a bicycle could expadite the delivery of necessary supplies and materials to families who are remote.
